shorts are my obsession. it's true. i love them because they can make a BIG statement in a simple outfit... and that is what i am going for this spring and summer! here, i will be showing 5 must-have shorts for this year...
let's start off with the basics. colored shorts! theses can add a pop of color to any outfit and are super cute! i am dying for some mint green ones!
floral shorts are coming back! every time i tell my mom i want some she tells me how she had a pair back when she was a teen. this kinda makes me question my desire for them...anyways, these shorts are so adorable and really add feminine touch to your outfit. i have my eye on these in the color, vintage rose, from Target!
lace shorts can be dressed up or dressed down... wear it with a pretty white blouse and wedges to a party or with a navy tank and flats shopping. either way, these are a must have for summer!
scalloped shorts. wow. every time i see a picture of them on pinterest a chill goes through my body. well, that might be exaggerating a little bit, but you get the point... i love and want these shorts! there are some cute ones at Jcrew !
studded shorts are the perfect diy to do right now! like i said in my last post, i made some last weekend (hope to show a "how i wear it" soon...) and i am so happy with how they turned out! i love how these (pictured) are simple but add a edgy vibe to a outfit. so, go get some demin shorts and stud away!
hope you enjoyed this post on must-have shorts for this season. it is getting me super excited for summer and all the outfits these shorts can go with! have a lovely day!

fashion quotes
lets be honest here, if you were to walk into my room you would find quotes everywhere... and i mean everywhere. they are not just any quotes. they are fashion quotes. the best right?! i thought i would share i few...
i actually wrote a paper on 1920's fashion recently, and this was my opening line. and it is in my locker... and on my mirror... and on my desk. as you can tell, i hate this quote(;
fashion is great... style is best.

Kate Spade, i love you. that's it.

lastest additions to my closet
hey there! i know i have not posted in a while, but i have been so bogged down with school, activities, and so on. anyways, today i want to show you my last three lasted additions to my closet and how i wear them. i love getting new things (i mean, what girl doesn't?!), and so when i get something new i have to stop myself from immediately ripping the tags off. so it is a blessing and a curse...
my first item is one of my favorite pieces in my closet now... get ready... CORAL pants! i truly cannot describe my love for these, and i can wear them to school. these little suckers are from Aerie (by American Eagle). coral is my obsession this spring; i cannot get enough of it!
i paired my pants with a white shear blouse from Loft that i also recently bought. although the picture doesn't give it it's full glory, this top ties in front and is extremely adorable. and of corse, i am wearing my basic brown leather sandals from American Eagle (mentioned in my favorite spring shoes post!)
my next item my friend (and photographer today!) gave to me. it is a cute red and white tank that has rope-like embellishments on the top. sadly, i do not exactly know where it is from... whoops.
i tucked my tank into my favorite high- waisted shorts from American Eagle (i like AE a lot, okay?!) and tied it together with a leather belt. with this outfit i wore my oxfords, that is also mentioned in one of my latest posts. i am loving this outfit and will defiantly be getting some use out of this tank this spring and summer!
so the great thing about these shoes is that you can dress them up or dress them down... and they are super lovely each way! i was feeling more of a casual look so i paired them with dark skinny jeans from Old Navy and a bright spring top that is thrifted. i tucked the front part of the shirt in and wore a neon pink belt with it from Gap.

my wedges... oh my wedges. to be completely honest, this is my very first pair of real wedges (unless you count those bright pink ones that barely got me off the ground in 3rd grade... i don't). these are from Clarks, and they are tan with some bronze detail on the front with a cork wedge. i originally got them to wear at a wedding, but now i am pairing them with quite a bit!
here is rachel! she is one of my really good friends and photographer for the day. she is super cute and fun to pal around with!
hope you enjoyed seeing my lasted additions to my closet and how i wear them! have a great day, and be creative with your personal style!

DIY composition notebook
the other day i was in the crafty mood, and so i looked on pinterest to find some good ideas... and then came up with none. so i thought that i would try to be original and create something i came up with. this little diy project is very simple and very easy and it can be made into whatever you want to use it for!
items needed for this project:
old composition notebook (unused)
scrapbook paper or old books
magazines
scissors
tape/glue
a creative outlook!
step 1: find an old composition notebook that is unused. this one was all ripped up, so i decided to give it a new look!

magazines

tape/glue
a creative outlook!
step 1: find an old composition notebook that is unused. this one was all ripped up, so i decided to give it a new look!
step 2: gather your supplies. i found a few old dictionaries from 1786 that were perfect for the look i wanted my notebook to have. i have been using these a ton in all my latest projects and crafts. this will be used to cover your entire notebook. if you want to achieve this look you can use old dictionaries, books, or even new papers! however, scrapbook paper would be just as cute! and of course, you need to get scissors, tape, glue, etc. (not pictured).
step 3: rip out a few pages from the old book or pick out about 2 of your favorite scrapbook papers. then, look through your magazines and choose your favorite words, or if you want to put a phrase or quote on the front, look for those words! i decided wanted to put the words, " i realized this day was good" on mine. i chose this because i wanted to keep track of the little special moments in each day that made me smile. i am not good a keeping a journal (thou i wish i was!) so i chose this way to track each day.
step 4: tape or glue your book pages or scrapbook paper to the front and back of your notebook. as for old book/dictionary pages i did a few layers, to make sure the paper did not rip. fold the paper underneath the front and back of the notebook to make it look clean.
step 5: tape or glue your words however you like on the front of your notebook. you could do a collage of some of your favorite things, put your words in a cool shape, or just place them in order of a quote or phrase (as i did!).
and you're done!
i love how mine turned out, it is very simple, but just the way i wanted it! inside you can write whatever you want (journal, doodle, write notes, use it as a planner...). i wrote dates for every single day with a space beside it to write my "happy moments". i get excited to write in it each day, and hope i continue to do so for a long time!
that was probably a extremely long explanation on how to put paper on a notebook, but i hope you enjoyed it anyways. i just wanted to share with you a new thing that i am doing, that i encourage you to do too! have the loveliest of days, and find the good in each day rather than dreading on the bad.
